Board Bill 66-Puts the power of surveillance in the city of St. Louis in hands of the Board of Alderman when it comes to the financial costs to the community, privacy concerns, and racially motivated surveillance.
Update: BB 66 will undergo a name change sometime after mid April when it’s re-introduced in the new Board of Alders’ session.

Board Bill 180-a means to legalize personal possession of marijuana for two ounces or less and allow for homegrown measures.
Update: No update since 1st reading on 10/27/17.

Board Bill 233-Allows the Civilian Oversight Board to command evidence relevant and necessary to fully investigate complaints of misconduct by the SLMPD including subpoenas for witness testimony and producing documents, recordings, and other evidence.
Update: 3/2/18 2nd reading and 3/9/18 perfection (takes a majority of the aldermen present to vote in favor of perfecting a bill and move it on to Final Passage. All votes at the Board require a majority of the aldermen present except on Final Passage, which requires a total of 15 “yes” votes regardless of how many aldermen are present at the meeting.)

Board Bill 234-Establishes an Independent Force Investigative Unit within the Circuit Attorney’s office for criminal conduct within the SLMPD occurring in the city of St. Louis resulting in death or grave bodily harm. 
Update: No update since 1st reading on 1/12/18.

House Bill 1501-Prohibits law enforcement from seizing property in forfeiture litigation unles the seized property is $100,000 or more in value.
Update: There was a 1st and 2nd reading in January then the bill was referred to the Crime Prevention and Public Safety committee and a public hearing was completed. Most recently, action was postponed 2/6/18.

House Bill 2145-Directed at non-violence protests, would make a felony any obstruction of streets or interference of traffic.
Update: No update since 2nd reading on 1/18/18.

House Bill 1255/Senate Bill 793-Raise the Age, which raises the age for kids entering the adult criminal justice system from 17 to 18.
Update: 2nd public hearing scheduled, bill not heard. 

House Bill 1358/Senate Bill 899-Protect Password Privacy for All Missourians, which prohibits landlords and business owners from requiring tenants and employees to hand over social media passwords.
Update: Since Feb. 21st the bill has been taken up for perfection, title agreed to, perfected with amendments, passed after a 3rd reading, and reported then referred to the Senate for a 1st and 2nd reading.

House Bill 1627/Senate Bill 803-Ban Shackling of Female Inmates, which bans the shackling of female inmates during their third trimester of pregnancy.
Update: No update since public hearing 2/8/18

House Bill 2172/Senate Bill 828-The Fourth Amendment Affirmation Act, which holds police departments accountable for engaging in racial profiling.
Update: 3/28/18 vote was 8-1 without amendments and the bill still includes consent searches and data element.
