The Youth Council for Positive Development is a nonprofit organization which developed out of the OBS youth group. The focus of the YCPD involves the Ma’at Saturday Youth Program, Youth Cultural Theater, Rites of Passage, and the Jamala Rogers Young Visionary Award. These four components work together to prioritize Black history and culture, character development, academic achievement, and community service. Visit website.

Break the Pipeline
We work with Metropolitan Congregations United (MCU) to keep our youth out of the adult prison system. We fight for immediate application of the Raise the Age Law to raise the minimum age our youth can be charged as adults from 17 to 18.

Census 2020
We are working with our partners and allies to ensure African Americans complete the U.S. Census. We are committed to ensuring our community receives all the benefits of federal funding that we deserve.

Young & Black Matter
We encourage youth and young adults to be engaged in the issues that directly impact them. We do the political education necessary to help them understand the power tools in the struggle for democracy such as voting.
